The Fundamental Mistake
by TD inthere's a funny story that's circulated among engineering types about a young vp at arco.
he saw an inordinate amount of 'boiler operators' on the payroll and noticed that they made an inordinate amount of money.
he decided that he would save the company a bunch of money by out-sourcing the building maintenance.

TD Man I wish you did more threads. Can this be thrown in the "Best Of" section? Or is it too premature to suggest such?

Not fearing Armageddon
by tec insome time ago i was granted some understanding about 'armageddon', and so i am sharing it with you.
i should have shared it when i first received it from our lord.. there is nothing to fear if you are not riding out to make war against someone.
satan deceives the nations and gets them to march against those who belong to christ and god.

Will you please elaborate on how the message was delivered to you? I do not previously recall a post in which you relayed a message from above. This is fascinating.
Same exact thing I was thinking, and I say that with love as you're alright with me Tammy, but when people start recieving revelations I'm hesitant to take them seriously. Again I say that with the upmost respect and love for you, but I'm under the impression you're going to say, "may you have peace!" soon.
Satan deceives the nations and gets them to march against those who belong to Christ and God. Only to protect those who are living in peace and who belogn to Him, are those who seek to destroy, devoured by fire from heaven.
This is something that's always appeared far-fetched to me, like how does Satan organize an assault on those belonging to Christ? There's even confusion as to who does and does not belong to Christ, so any interpretation of these verses are vague and obtuse(shout out to Cofty) at best. -

43% polled actually believe Tebow has divine intervention...
by undercover inare this many people really that stupid?
43% of people polled believe that divine intervention played a part in tebow's unlikely success in leading the broncos to the playoffs.
jesus/god really gives a shit who wins an nfl playoff game?

Never seen this one coming, crazy! There's a side of me that's rooting for Tebow now and I didn't really care for him before. Didn't really dislike him, but definately wasn't a fan especially with all the praying foolishness. I hope he succeeds whereever he goes now.

Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?
by slimboyfat inas i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?
why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?
it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.

What "new overlapping generations teaching"? Barr didn't introduce any such teaching among Jehovah's Witnesses. You know this already, but you are going to believe what you want to believe, aren't you, no matter what the facts might be? At least now we know what you "think," don't we?

Here DJ, refresh your memory. I can't recall when this spin was introduced via the literature, but if I'm not mistaken the annual meeting was the first we heard of this latest interpretation of "this generation." The first link is probably alll you need to see DJ.

Songs that are atmospheric
by FlyingHighNow inthis is a song thread that will take a little thought.
i'd like for you to share songs that sound atmospheric and conjure up feelings of night air or a smokey room, the energy of the ocean's roar or capture the joy of a party or celebration.
the songs can be transportive and take you other places by their sound and the visuals they evoke from the stories they tell.. my first one is from tim mcgraw.

Exactly Outlaw LOL. That's exactly it!!! I have to admit though I'm glad people have an outlet to get things off their chest, so if they want to bash elders, be my guest. I just hate how they've been hurt by one individual or a group of individuals and then want to point the finger at everyone who holds a position within any congregation, even a congregations continents away from themselves, and yet still view elders they've never met as being part and parcel to their pain. If that's the case then maybe I should say fukk all white people, fukk all police officers, yaddda yaddda.........To me it's the equivalent of pulling the race card simply because your personality makeup isn't complex enough to see the multiplicity of everyone's individual and unique circumstances.
